Welcome to Aftermath! In this play-by-post, post-apocalyptic RPG, almost all the humans in the world have died out since Y2K happened in the year 2000 AD. Everything was destroyed, save for one: the city of New York, which was protected from the apocalypse because of a recent breakthrough in science that was only developed a mere week before everything was obliterated inside one of the most advanced facilities in the entire world. This Laboratory managed to save the entire city, and even the hope that humans may come back and begin to re-populate the city. Now, the small selection of humans that had been chryogenetically frozen inside are, one by one, waking up from their immortal sleep with no memory of their former lives and incredibly heightened senses to find a half destroyed world awaiting them. The year now is 2099 AY2K, and their lives have just begun.

All the rules and updates will be kept in here, as well as the
census. I'm forcing you to read the rules by making a
password on the biographies or anything, but I seriously suggest reading them or you'll
probably get really confused, really fast.

Just outside the town lies one of the only things that made it
through Y2K unharmed; the laboratory.

Uptown
[ ]Streets
All along the nearly-grown in streets are the old streetlights
that have long since gone out. The road is a beautiful
cobblestone, with grass growing between the stones,
but it's a nice place nonetheless.

[ ]Wellington Hotel
Dusty but intact, the old suites are still around and available to
use. This is a popular place for the humans that are still alive
to stay because the building was built so that it can last
hundreds of years, and the dirt is at a minimal because of the
lack of animals that have taken over most of the rest of the
town.

[ ]Central Park
The grass has grown impossibly long, but the
fountain still holds water due to rain. The trees are lush and
a few of them hold fruit. Although it has grown in as
much as the rest of the city, it's still a stunning place to stop by
at.

Downtown
[ ]Manhattan Bridge
This massive suspension bridge is still around thanks to the
effects of the Lab, and it's a beautiful place to be at night,
right over top of the canal. There is still space left under
the bridge where animals frequently stay, so be careful if
you ever happen to visit it.

[ ]The Statue of Liberty
The massive, copper-clad robed woman still stands in the late
year of 2099, and the surviving humans are still able to climb
all the way to the top to see the beautiful view of the entire
NYC. Many birds flock to this place daily.

[ ]Castle Garden
The stunning structures of the Castle Gardens are still around
after the apocalypse, and it's still an amazing place to visit.
Small animals like wild dogs or cats are often spotted
exploring these monuments.

The Woods
[ ]Forest
The trees that now make up Manhattan's forest along the
outside of the city may or may not have been there before the
apocalypse, but now the house many animals, and lots of wild
fruits and vegetables grow in these hidden trees.

[ ]The River
This river eventually expands into the great canal
underneath of the Manhattan Bridge, but while it rides
through the river its a great place to cool off and refresh
yourself, and its clean enough to drink due to the constant
flow of the water. In some places it's shallow enough to
simply wade through, but many places can be deep enough to
swim or bathe. It's also rich in fish.

[ ]Clearing
A large meadow is centered in the forest. The grass is fairly
long, and black bushes have completely surrounded it. If you
keep walking towards the North, you'll hit the river, and if
you follow that, eventually the city.
